This is me at the Valley of Kings in Luxor. We flew there around 5 a.m.-ish. All I remember is having a terrible headache, my ears were popping the entire ride and I was SO tired, but it was well worth it. This was during a 10 day break we had for Eid-al-Adha when I thought I was going to Saudi Arabia. That didn’t work out for me, but I was luck to have friends that convinced me to go to Luxor/Aswan with them! It was a great time.
Again this isĀ the Valley of the Kings (Wadi el-Muluk) where the Pharaohs of the New Kingdom had their tombs built. Simply amazing.
One of the amazing things about these tempes were that they contained the original colors from thousands of years ago!
Luxor, Egypt
a close up
Just me attempting to be a photographer.
Luxor, Egypt located in Upper Egypt and the West Bank
Again, this is original color. NO resoration!
Some figures on one of the temples.
The detail is remarkable.
The colors are amazing. And, at the left of the picture, look at how deep those heirogpyics are!
Broken (but beautiful) columns.
Close up.
More sad broken columns.
Here I am standing next to a column illustrating how HUGE they are.
