My trip to Alexandria, Egypt. Me and a friend took the train there and back. Alexandira itself was beautiful, and though I didn’t get to see everything I would have liked to it was still an amazing two days.
A group of men were praying at the mosque across from our hotel. (for the Friday prayer) I do miss the sound of the adhan (call to prayer).
We went to Chilli’s for lunch! Same tables as the Chilli’s in the U.S. haha.
See! I’m not lying! They even got the big red Chiili!…We ate outside, and it was nice.
The Montazah Gardens where we stayed.
The Montazah Garden was pretty.
Another attempt at photogprahy.
This is the hotel we stayed at. It was super nice and unfortunately expensive.
Me in the Mediterranean Sea!
The dirty water of the Med. Sea.
Another gorgeous view.
…and even some boaters.
Ah, my bed. Boy was it the comfiest thing I’ve ever slept on!
A cloudy day in Alexandria, Egypt.
I found this quite eerie…not sure why, but I am scared of large bodies of water sometimes. Maybe because I don’t know how to swim!
Ah, what’s a beach without palm trees.
We ate dinner at Hosny Grill. It was a cute little place–this was the TV entertainment.
El Qobesi. The greatest mango juice place. EVER. Oh, I miss mango juice as well! Yummy in my tummy!
Some artwork–fishermen. I mean, why not…after all, it is Alexandria!
Never woke up at sunrise so many times in my life! This is the sun rising in Alex.
This picture was taken in Alex as the sun was rising.
A tomb at the catacombs in Alex.
Shattered plates inside of the tomb…I believe it was to commemorate the dead.
Animal bones! Nuff said.
The Bibliotheca Alexandria. Amazing!
The library has three museums for antiquities, manuscripts and the history of science. Some very neat stuff!
Unlike Cairo, more women in Alexandria veiled. Here are some women studying at the library.
Here are just a few of the things inside the library.
I thought this was really cute. A little sarcophagus made out of paper.
Alexandria in Arabic–the rest of this was a huge map of Alex.
Islamic Art via Arabic calligraphy
Wow. There were some pretty amazing printing machines.
Coolness. Used for printing, I believe.
Some books on the shelves of the Alex library.
This almost looks eerie as well.
Thus concluding my pictures from Alexandria…I thought I had more pics, but I guess not.
